India has officially refused to host the Women's T20 World Cup, initially scheduled in Bangladesh, due to political instability in the latter. The International Cricket Council (ICC) sought India as a replacement host for the October event, but the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has categorically declined the offer. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah confirmed the decision, emphasizing India's unwillingness to take over the hosting responsibilities on short notice. This decision leaves the ICC in a challenging position as it scrambles to find a new venue for the prestigious tournament.
